Micro controller VS Microprocessor

Before we see what is ARDUINO we must first see the difference between a Microprocessor and Micro-controller. What are these?

Microcontroller

These are the motherboards that are more efficient in controlling and managing different hardwares. These are like the muscles in our body which controls the movement of our body

Microprocessor

These are the motherboards that are more efficient in processing different processes and problems very efficiently. They can do complex calculations with ease when compared to Microcontroller. They are like the brain of our body.

So now WHAT is ARDUINO?

ARDUINO is a microcontroller which is used by beginners to learn and get into the world of robotics. These are small tiny boards that can be easily programmed and can perform a lot of functions. From home automation to quadcopters, all these and much more can be made using Arduino. The only limitation is the imagination.

There are other models of Arduino board such as UNO, NANO, MICRO, MEGA etc.

Now I guess you might be wondering WHY ETC???
Cause the Arduino board is a open source hardware. i.e we can modify, recreate, sell the duplicate, make changes to the name of this hardware. So that means there are other companies that make and sell these boards legally and can add many more features and can modify its design.
